Does Team Fortress 2 have a demo or a trail version?

I want to see how well my computer can run it with an fps and I don't really want to blow the 20 bucks.

I don't believe there is, but if you post your system specs Im sure people can tell you how it'll run. You could also run it with an FPS config which will greatly increase your FPS.

Unfortunately, TF2 has no trial or demo edition. Instead, there are free weekends here and there where people get to try the game, and you missed a recent one. If you have a local friend with the game, see if they would allow you to try the game with their account (while they are present, of course) so you can see how it handles. If you post your specs here, however, someone might be able to give you an indication of what your performance would be like.

Someone had told me to check out canyourunit.com and it said the only thing tht didnt meet the requirment was the CPU and that an fps script might solve that problem.

the problem is that tf2 is extremly cpu intensive, meaning that the most important piece of hardware is your cpu (for tf2). even with the worst fps script it may not be possible to run tf2 at reasonable fps.

thaaaaats what i was worried about. Oh well. Maybe i will just have to wait for one of those free weekends

Why would you want to play TF2 while hiking?
