Brothers are decent printers ... and I hate to break it to you, but cheap printer + expensive ink is the business model most companies use for printers. Brother models are never going to be the highest quality ... they're made inexpensively, and don't have the power of a brand name such as HP behind it, but the company is reputable, and they aren't ripoffs, just economy.
