Can you turn the blood off in TF2?

I honestly don't know. If you can, it'd be a console command. gl_gibs, a_blood, cl_gore, something like those.

Haha! Those cartoonish characters even make a kid wanna play. Valve SHOULD give an option, then kids could play it too!
(I'd rather keep it on though)

Thats kind of stupid, you should definately be able to turn it off, exposing little kids to violence like that is unhealthy.

Ether way you slice it, the game is violent even if you take off the blood; your child will be  stabing people, blowing them up, or slaughtering them with a machine gun. Why the crap does it matter if there is blood or not? If this is some moral issue then don't have your kid play a violent game to begin with.

I read that there is a family setting. It's obviously not in the TF2 Options so I wonder whether it's true or not.
Perhaps a feature yet to see the light of day during the Beta.
